Casey and Scott- 1/12/12

Churchill Island on the first day of Summer- what a spectacular venue for a wedding ceremony! With views of the ocean, quaint gardens and wandering peacocks, no wonder a stray sheep and a dozen or so tourists were so intrigued by Casey and Scott's wedding! The weather was beautiful and very fitting for a Summer wedding.

The best part about this job is the people you meet along the way and being able to share in their excitement, nerves and joy. This was particularly true of Casey and Scott and I enjoyed their wedding so much. They are both down-to-earth people and they compliment each other well.

Thanks, Casey and Scott, and congratulations on your wedding!

P.S. Thanks to my cousin, Emily, for the photographs!

Venloe and Ray- 27/10/12

Sometimes you have the privilege of meeting people who are just simply nice, nice, nice. Ray and Venloe are those kind of people. I have known Ray for nearly ten years, and over these ten years, he has never given me any reason to believe that he is anything other than a kind-hearted and generous gentleman. So, upon getting to know his soon-to-be bride, Venloe, I was very happy that Ray had found someone who is such a perfect match for him. Venloe is vibrant and so friendly. Both of them have great families and they are just nice, nice, nice people!

I loved being a part of their special day. For them their wedding was a celebration, and that it was! I can't wait to spend more time with Mr and Mrs Mackay and I am looking forward to hearing about their adventures as a married couple (and the adventures of their lovely family members).

Ray and Venloe- may your life be one happy Gypo Ride!

Oh, and a big kiss for my husband, Ray and Venloe's wedding was on the day of our 5 year anniversary! Love you!

Sammy and Matt- 7/1/12

I was so excited to be able to officiate the wedding between my big brother, Matt, and new sister in-law, Sam. Their wedding was in Healesville at the lovely Hedge End Maze. The mountains and rolling hills were the perfect backdrop for a wedding, and fortunately, although rain was forecasted, it held off for their ceremony.

Sam and Matt's ceremony was simple, but contained enough humor to suit them and their story and to keep the guests entertained. Their reception was lots of fun and it was great to celebrate with our family, Sam's family and Matt and Sam's close friends.

I'm grateful to Sam for giving me some more female company within the family, and more importantly, for making my brother happy and content. Congratulations to both of you, and I can't wait to meet your little baby in July!

Kym and Clint- 26/11/11

They say that rain on your wedding day is meant to mean good luck. If this is true, good luck will follow Kym and Clint for an eternity! The rain did clear for a short time, but it came down in bucket-loads as soon as Kym and her bridesmaids arrived.

Despite the weather, the atmosphere at Kym and Clint's wedding was lovely. Their friends and family were obviously very happy for the two of them and didn't mind the odd raindrop falling on their head.

Kym's dress was beautiful and Clint looked very dapper in his wedding attire. They wanted a 'no fuss' ceremony, and that's what I delivered. I do, however, believe I did see Kym shed a few tears. Was I imagining this? Did anyone else see this? Or is it possible that the woman who proclaimed she didn't want a soppy wedding couldn't help crying tears of happiness? Well, stranger things have happened, I guess.

Good luck to Kym and Clint!

Alison and Paul- 5/11/11

I've only known Alison and Paul for a short amount of time, but during this time it has become so obvious to me that they are made for one another. Both of them are very humorous people and they are so much fun to spend time with. I was thrilled to be able to marry them.

Their wedding at Crittenden Estate, on the Mornington Peninsula, was so laid back and reflected their personalities perfectly. Alison was one of the most relaxed brides I have ever seen! The weather was beautiful and the day revolved around family and close friends.

Alison and Paul made 1000 paper cranes for the occasion, and these added such a personal and unique touch to their celebrations.

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Sund, and thank-you so much for allowing me to play a part on your big day.

Sarah and Troy- 22/10/2011

The secret is out! Sarah and Troy are two of my best friends and we have been harbouring a secret... Nearly four years ago, Sarah designed and made my wedding gown and I am still incredibly appreciative for this. When I heard the news of Sarah and Troy's engagement, I really wanted to make a contribution to their wedding, but unfortunately, my sewing skills are non-existent. So I became a celebrant and between us, we decided Sarah and Troy would be the first couple I unite in marriage, and, to make things even more exciting, we kept this a secret from everybody.

Mr and Mrs Jarvis celebrated their wedding yesterday, and now the secret is out. I was so thrilled to be able to marry two people who are very important to me and I'll never forget the ceremony. I nearly cried when I saw Sarah walking towards Troy, but luckily, I managed to compose myself and the ceremony went well.

A big thank-you to Mr and Mrs Jarvis for allowing me to be a part of their wedding. The whole day was beautiful, not to mention, so much fun!

Congratulations!

Welcome to my Blog!

With my husband at our wedding in 2007

I've always loved weddings. There's something about the anticipation in the air, the start of something new and the excitement that lifts everyones' spirits. Being a celebrant allows me to share in this excitement and this is something I love to be a part of. This is why I decided to become a wedding celebrant.
